Christmas Time!!

Christmas has come and gone but we had a lot of fun memories this year!  First, Ryan's mom and her boyfriend Tom came to spend Christmas with us; somehow they managed to spend four days with us and not go crazy.  Delainie is at the perfect age for Christmas and was excited to see what Santa was going to bring.  We sprinkled reindeer food in the front yard, and set out cookies and milk for Santa.  The kids were spoiled by everyone this Christmas and it was fun to watch them open their gifts.  We had a great time with both sides of the family!  We are looking forward to New Years and seeing the exciting things that  2011 has to offer us!

Pop Tarts With Dad

At Delainie's preschool they had pop tarts with dad.  Ryan got to go to school with Lainie and have breakfast, sing songs, dance and spend some quality time together.  It was a lot of fun and at the end Lainie gave Ryan a present she made for him, it was a place mat with a drawing of Ryan and some fun questions that she answered about him.  Here is what Lainie answered about her best friend, her daddy:

My Dad is 3 years old
His job is:  to go to work and take a nap
My Dad's favorite drink is:  coffee
My Dad likes to cook:  pizza
My Dad loves to eat:  chocolate pudding
When he watches TV, he loves to watch:  baseball
My Dad's favorite restaurant is:  he likes to eat at home
For fun, my Dad likes to:  play puzzles and go to work

I Love You Dad- Delainie

I love what comes out of the mouths of three year olds, this was one of my favorite projects she has done!

Its Football and Soccer Season!!

I know I said I would try and update this every week, my intentions were good but I just need a extra 10 hours in the day to get stuff done.  We have been busy with soccer, football and school.  To catch everyone up to date....Ashleigh did great in cross country, especially since she decided to do it only to keep her endurance up for soccer.  She competed in districts, a few weeks ago and with over 250 kids she came in 48, and had her all-time best score, we were very proud of her!  She is loving soccer and she is playing a new position, goalie.  I have to say that I am probably more nervous than she is when she is defending the goal, but so far she has played two games and no goals have been scored on her!!  (It helps that she has awesome defenders helping her out too)  In her last game they won 4-0 and she scored her first goal of the season!  She is doing well in school and has lots of friends and is a very socially active teenager.  Jake is having a great football season, they are undefeated for a 4-0 record.  His last game they beat the team 77-0.  He is still playing linebacker, offensive line and special teams.  He loves to tackle and has had some great hits this season.  Delainie started soccer a few weeks ago, she was very excited to play with her new team, I even had to force her to not wear her shin guards and cleats to bed.  Her first practice she refused to play, but her second one she loved it.  She had fun with her coach and learned how to dribble the ball and take a shot at the goal.  She is loving preschool and her best friend is a little girl named Ryan.  Leah is our little eating machine, and does pretty well being dragged all over to sports practices and games, she is a trooper!  Ryan is somewhat getting used to staying home with the kids during the day, he does have a new-found respect for stay-at-home moms.  I am patiently waiting to hear if I have gotten accepted into nursing school and recently just passed my boards for my CNA.  We are looking forward to celebrating Ryan's birthday tonight, with a cake made by Delainie!

A Busy Life We Lead

This last week has been a busy one, filled with school and sports and everything in-between.  Ashleigh had three cross country meets and did great!  She came in 3rd overall for the girls in the first two meets and 9 th overall for the 8th graders in the last.  Soccer is also in full swing and we can not wait for her first game.  Jake is doing awesome in football, on offense he plays center and on defense he either plays linebacker or nose guard.  One of his coach's told Ryan that Jake is a animal and loves to tackle, guess that is a compliment, sure made Jake proud.  He has his first game next weekend!  Delainie is in her third week of preschool and loves it!  She has gotten to paint, play outside, learning how to write and loves playing with her new friends.  She will start soccer on the 18th of September, should be fun!  Leah is a very active one year old, loves getting into things and playing outside.  Ryan and I are both staying busy and barely seeing each other with his new work schedule and me being at school during the day.  We are looking forward to a visit from Ryan's dad this weekend.  Sorry there are no pictures, Leah managed to get a hold of our memory card and we are still searching for it.

Here We Go Again

Delainie's first day of preschool

Jake's first day of 4th grade

Ashleigh's first day of 8th grade

I am going to try this blogging thing once again, to keep all our out-of-state friends and family updated on our life here in Colorado. The Kerrigan household has been very busy these last couple of weeks. Ashleigh started 8th grade and is doing cross country and soccer. She loves soccer and is still on the same team, they are a fantastic group of girls. Jake started 4th grade and has his amazing teacher he had last year, Mrs. Stone. He has started tackle football and loves it, he has been moved to linebacker and the kid can hit. I never thought I would be proud to see my son tackle/hit someone but in football I am one proud momma seeing him knock and bring a player down. Delainie started her first week of preschool at Little Blessings; her teacher is Mrs. Nicole. There were no tears when I dropped her off, only when I came to pick her up, she did not want to leave...So, I guess that is a good thing. Miss Delainie will be starting soccer in the next few weeks and she seems like a natural; probably from watching her older sister. Leah is also doing good, she almost weighs as much as Delainie and that is why her daddy gave her the nickname "Tank". She is for the most part a happy, active one year old; she is starting to show some attitude but she needs to, being the baby of this family. Ryan and I are both doing well, he is going to start working the swing shifts at work and will be at home with the little girls during the day while I am in school; should be a good thing for all. I am currently applying to RN programs and will hear sometime towards the very end of October. My goal is to keep this updated weekly for everyone and we hope everyone is doing well, we miss you!!
