A Busy Life We Lead

This last week has been a busy one, filled with school and sports and everything in-between.  Ashleigh had three cross country meets and did great!  She came in 3rd overall for the girls in the first two meets and 9 th overall for the 8th graders in the last.  Soccer is also in full swing and we can not wait for her first game.  Jake is doing awesome in football, on offense he plays center and on defense he either plays linebacker or nose guard.  One of his coach's told Ryan that Jake is a animal and loves to tackle, guess that is a compliment, sure made Jake proud.  He has his first game next weekend!  Delainie is in her third week of preschool and loves it!  She has gotten to paint, play outside, learning how to write and loves playing with her new friends.  She will start soccer on the 18th of September, should be fun!  Leah is a very active one year old, loves getting into things and playing outside.  Ryan and I are both staying busy and barely seeing each other with his new work schedule and me being at school during the day.  We are looking forward to a visit from Ryan's dad this weekend.  Sorry there are no pictures, Leah managed to get a hold of our memory card and we are still searching for it.

Here We Go Again

Jake's first day of 4th grade

Ashleigh's first day of 8th grade

I am going to try this blogging thing once again, to keep all our out-of-state friends and family updated on our life here in Colorado. The Kerrigan household has been very busy these last couple of weeks. Ashleigh started 8th grade and is doing cross country and soccer. She loves soccer and is still on the same team, they are a fantastic group of girls. Jake started 4th grade and has his amazing teacher he had last year, Mrs. Stone. He has started tackle football and loves it, he has been moved to linebacker and the kid can hit. I never thought I would be proud to see my son tackle/hit someone but in football I am one proud momma seeing him knock and bring a player down. Delainie started her first week of preschool at Little Blessings; her teacher is Mrs. Nicole. There were no tears when I dropped her off, only when I came to pick her up, she did not want to leave...So, I guess that is a good thing. Miss Delainie will be starting soccer in the next few weeks and she seems like a natural; probably from watching her older sister. Leah is also doing good, she almost weighs as much as Delainie and that is why her daddy gave her the nickname "Tank". She is for the most part a happy, active one year old; she is starting to show some attitude but she needs to, being the baby of this family. Ryan and I are both doing well, he is going to start working the swing shifts at work and will be at home with the little girls during the day while I am in school; should be a good thing for all. I am currently applying to RN programs and will hear sometime towards the very end of October. My goal is to keep this updated weekly for everyone and we hope everyone is doing well, we miss you!!

Happy 1st Birthday Delainie!!

Delainie with cake face!
Delainie's first birthday cakes!!

Happy 1st Birtday Delainie!!!

Well we can't believe a year has come and gone and we have celebrated Delainie's first birthday! We had a small party for her at our house on her actual birthday. The guest at her party were Grandpa and Grandma, The Ices, The Dawson's, The McCanna's, The Moore's, Lindsay and Brandon. The menu included a sub sandwich, pasta salad, fruits, veggies and Delainie's favorite chicken nuggets. We spent the afternoon just playing in the backyard and hanging out with all her little friends! She loved her little cake and she wouldn't use her hands to eat it. She just dove head first but towards the end she realized she could get much more in her mouth with her hands. She really didn't care for opening any of her gifts, so her brother and sister took over. We missed having our family and friends at her party but we thank you all for the gifts you sent and your birthday wishes! She went to the doctor for her one year checkup and she weighs 18 pounds 6 ounces and is 29 inches long. The doctor said she is reaching all her milestones and is just where she needs to be. She did note her stubbornness and her feisty attitude! We defiantly have our hands full with this one!

Colorado Elite Soccer Team Spring 2008

Last weekend we had a pretty busy weekend, packed with soccer, baseball and going to Washington Park with good friends. On Saturday Ashleigh had her final soccer game of the season, they won 1-0!! Ashleigh played forward and did a great job, she came so close to scoring a couple of goals! After we had a team picnic at the park and then had the girls sign soccer balls that they can keep. Then it was off to Jake's game, our friends Simone, Rich and Haley came to watch. Rich took some great pictures that I will post on snapfish soon! Jake's team won 25-19!! Jake had some great hits and great fielding plays, if only we could get him to run the bases a little faster! On Sunday Jake had another game and they also won that one, 37-19!! Jake played catcher, second base and center field and he also got some great hits!! After the game we went to Washington Park with our good friends J, Jay and their dog Curly! We had a great time playing baseball, arobi, and Jake loved playing with Curly! Delainie had a lot of fun too, she managed to find the only mud hole at the park and preceded to sit in it and play! We then listened to J play the guitar and then he let Jake play, which Jake thought was awesome! I think we might have a musician on our hands!! Well I am off to start getting ready for Delainie's party, nothing like waiting till the last minute =)

Hi Everyone!!

Delainie's birthday invites!!!

We thought this would be a fun way to keep everyone updated on the Kerrigan's! Life is pretty crazy these days, Ashleigh is playing soccer (and has turned into quite the soccer player). Jake is playing baseball and loves it! Those of you that know Jake, he is not the runner, actually he is quite lazy, a lot like his uncle Jimmy=). So we have decided to put him in speed camp, I'm sure this will be torture for him and he will try anything to get out of it! I will keep you updated on his progress or what he calls torture camp! Our little Delainie is turning one in the next week, I can't believe a year has gone by! We are having a little party at our house for her on her actual birth date. She is walking, saying only a few words, and is very cute! I do have to admit she is stubborn, think Jake times ten! We hope everyone is doing well and I will keep this updated!
